I've not really gotten into genealogy yet--just thinking of starting. I found your post looking up my granparents. My Maternal Grandmother was Sarah Helen Parman who came from the Midwest to Oregon as a young girl via wagon train --but will have to do some research to get approximate year-
The familly settled near Condon, Oregon and lived there through the late 1800 and continue there to this day. Sarah Helen died in Condon in the early 1940's in her early 60s. The name Giles is also common in this branch of the family. The Historical Museum in Condon has some information on the Parman's from early years to present. I'm planning a trip there in October to find out what they have on the families of all 4 of my grandparents.
I have some clippings in my files in the office. I will get them today and reply again with more specifics.
