Sharon,

I have been researching the Parrett name in Kent because my mother's father's father married into the Parrett family who owned a dairy. My mother says the dairy at (or near) Bromley in Kent but the Parrett who was a dairyman at the time she describes, was a Thomas Henry Parrett of Hartley, near Longfield. Because my mother's father and his parents lived in Chatham from the early 1900's (or earlier), I checked Kelly's Directory for the residents of Chatham from 1895 to 1938. I found a Mrs. Parrett who was a midwife and Parretts who owned the local newspapers. The same or other family also owned the Thanet Gazette in Margate. I don't know if this helps your Parrett research but I am interested to find how my mother relates to the Parrett family who owned a dairy. My mother's maiden name was Shoults. Her father was Leonard Cecil Elijah Shoults (1913-1977). Her mother was Christina Edwards (1917-1987).
