Thank you for the information on GG-Grandfather John L. Cailey. My Dad placed a 13 star flag in the Newton, Illinois library when he broke up the house after my Mother died. I lived in Alaska at the time so that seemed a safe place for the flag that purportedly belonged to Frederick Parrett. My cousin in on the board of the library and has said I can have the flag back anytime. It is displayed in a glass case. I was named for Mary Matilda Patterson Cailey. John Fred Cailey is my GG-Grandfather. Do you know where she is buried? John L. married (2) Martha Current who by all accounts was a lovely woman. Her extended family still lives in Sleepy Eye and has been most helpful in sharing information.
