There were numerous Parrishes in Franklin Co. - which was formed from Bute Co. about 1779. Among them were Henry's and Isaac's.
I believe my Edward Parrish(s) were in Franklin Co. (and Bute before 1779 and in Granville before 1764)
I bet Franklin Co. would be a good place for you to start.

In the March 1798 Court Minutes an Issac Parrish was appointed administrator for the estate of a John Rhodes

There was a Parrish family in Warren Co. - also taken from Bute Co at the same time as Franklin. This Parrish came from VA:
... besides John Duke, Jr, were Joel Duke who was in Georgia before 1790; Tabitha Duke who married Edward Parrish in Brunswick County, Virginia, and later lived in Warren County, North Carolina; Simon Duke who remained in Warren County;
Brunswick Co VA north of Warren Co. NC
