Linda, Actually Brissie was the son of John Parrish who was b.c1692 and died in Goochland in 1751. This is proven in some of the land Deeds of Goochland. Brissie, as the eldest (living) son, inherited John's land (John died without a Will). Brissie then immediately shared with 2 of his younger brothers, William & Charles. In the Deed he declared this was John's land and he (Brissie) was conveying 50 ac each to "his brothers" William & Charles. [John in 1742 had "sold" 100 ac to James (also believed to be John's son) and in 1746 had likely helped John,Jr acquire a land parcel that included 50 ac from John(d.1751)--- John,Jr also believed to be a son].
Brissie was in Lunenburg Co in 1753, and then in Granville NC by 1757 --- and remained in that location. In 1757 from Granville, he "sold" the last remaining parcel of John's land to Anselm (believed to be John's youngest son who likely had just turned age-21) Brissie's Will was probated in Granville in Feb. 1791.
At the time of his death, John's wife was listed as "Judith" in some court records and she was also listed in one of his 1843 land transactions. However there is quite a large time span across the dates of birth of the oldest son to the youngest --- it's possible Judith was a 2nd wife, but there are no records to confirm either possibility.
John(b.c1692--d.1751) is believed to have been the oldest son of Humphrey Parrish & Mary (Walker?). There are some baptism records for 3 of Humphrey Parrish's children 1698-1701 in New Kent Co VA. In the same county John Parrish had a son baptized in 1713. In Goochland, John lived adjacent to Humphrey. Brissie named a son Humphrey, indicating a connection to Humphrey's line.
