Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Fitts sounds familiar, but when I checked my relatives as well as Bill Hammond's book on the descendents of Nathaniel Pass, I didn't find Susanna or Mary Ann. Nathaniel was born in Halifax County in 1735 and would have been about the age to be Thomas's brother--the name Thomas occurs frequently in the next few generations. There were several Passes in Halifax County in the 1700's, presumably relatives, but where they came from or how the name might have been spelled prior to that is not known. See the note at http://www.familyorigins.com/users/p/a/s/Douglas-J-Pass/FAMO5-0001/d64.htm#P153
