Moody Island, Washington Co., ME - Passamaquoddy Indian territory
Posted by: melissa1 (ID *****3873) Date: June 11, 2005 at 10:56:07

Can anyone tell me anything about Who this island was named for? My 3rd grt. grandfather Joseph D. Moody was 1/2 Passamaquoddy Indian and he was an Indian doctor born in Maine but lived his last years in Lowell, MA.
His mother was a MITCHELL and I believe her father was a Thomas (Tomah/Tomer).
Since Peter Dana Pt. is on Big Lake and Moody Island is in Big Lake, I am wondering if there might be some connection to my family there.
If anyone can help with info about this island I would be most greatful.
Thank you.
