Melugin/Passmore family connection

My gggg gfather John Melugin is listed b.1754 Chester, PA, but family tradition says that he jumped ship after coming to America, and rearranged the vowels in his name, in hopes he would not be found out and sent back. Until today, no mention was made of his wife's name or came to light, but now the suggestion is that she was a Passmore. John's life since coming to this country has been documented and passed by family members, so a very extensive family history was documented and published by a Melugin family member several years ago. If any Passmore family can contribute to this and help find John's wife's name and rightful place among us, will be ever so grateful. Sincerely appreciate any input.

Mary Wendland
