Hi Robert, thank you for contacting me re George Samuel Passmore (I did reply via my email but it was sent back to me).
George Samuel was the son of George Samuel Passmore and Lavinia Alden, she was my 2xgreat aunt. I haven't confirmed yet when exactly George Samuel jnr went to the USA but I believe it was in the early 1890's.
You could well be right about the marriage as this information came from the IGI, which is a very good tool for pointing people in the right direction but it does contain errors, I would very much appreciate a copy of George and Ida's marriage and Gorge's citizenship papers when you are able to get them and I will be happy to reimburse any costs incurred.
I have been unable to locate the death dates for George and Ida at this time but I will keep searching.
I do know that George's parents George Samuel and Lavinia Passmore paid them a visit in 1912, they arrived at Ellis Island on the "Lusitania" on 3rd May 1912, I don't know how long they stayed or when they returned to Bristol but I have located Lavinia's death in Bristol in 1923.
And finally George Samuel's (jnr) brother Arthur L Passmore arrived at Ellis Island on the "Wells City" on 6th August 1917, he had signed on in Bristol on 16th July 1917 as the 3rd chief engineer.
I look forward to hearing from you,
best wishes
