My father's family was/is from Guadalajara, Mexico. He, his parents and four siblings were all driven out during the Pancho Villa revolution of c. 1917. One of his brothers (my uncle) was named Pedro (Peter in America). They settled outside of Chicago, where most of us still live. The family lineage was pure Spanish, up to that time anyway. They were forced to leave Mexico, since they were landowners and members of the ruling class, dating back to the arrival of Cortez. I don't know what part of Spain they came from.

By the way, I know a Diane Pastor -- are you the same one, from Illinois?
