Never go with your parent's thoughts on who you should marry, the final call is always yours. I suggest you become somewhat rebelous and say" Look we are in America now, Im tired of indian traditions of setting up marriages, I want to do this myself!" The next generation if not our own is slowly migrateing into these views. Not every indian patel is married to another patel in the same gam. There is nothing wrong in marrying any type of nationality.

Ill let my kid decide wheather he/she wants to change there last name when the time comes, let them start a whole new caste of last names.
