Finding some family
Posted by: Leana Patenaude Date: October 24, 1999 at 19:31:33

My name is Leana Patenaude and I'm from the Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement in Alberta, Canada. I was just wondering if anyone knew more about my ancestors. My dad's grandparents names were Alphonse Patenaude and Josephine (nee: Young Chief) They think that Alphonse was born in Onion Lake, Saskatchewan around the year 1889. And his wife, Josephine, was born in Kehewin, not sure of the spelling. I am Metis (part French and part Cree [Native American]) and I just think that it would be really neat to see where our French ancestry came from :) So if ANYONE has ANY information for me I would LOVE IT! Thanks you and merci
