Philomene [Patenaude] Dalpe died in 1913 in Cohoes NY. Her husband Amos [Ignace??] died ca 1872 and Philomene remained in NY until her death. In the NY Census for 1880, Philomene indicates she is widowed and keeping house, 45 [b. ca 1835], born in Canada. Identified children listed with her born in Canada are: Adeneb 19 (b. 1861) works in cotton mill; Ella 17 (b. 1863) dressmaker; Charles 16 (b. 1864) works in cotton mill; Emma 15 (b. 1865) works in cotton mill; George 14 (b. 1866) works in cotton mill. The next two children were born in New York State and are BOTH listed as age 10. They are William and Josephine (b. 1870) at school. HOWEVER, lin the 1900 census Philomene is enumrated with only two children: Joseph born 1872 and William born 1873 -- so there is a great possibility that these two were 'mis-identified' in the 1880 census.
