"Six Children Burned to Death In Home in Little Quebec Parish
(by Canadian Press) Ormston, Quebec Jan 2.
While their parents were away visiting relatives at St. Chrysostom, a nearby parish, six children, members of two families, were burned to death while they slept New Years Night in the home of Albert Usereau. The house was totally destroyed by fire.
The dead are Francis 9, Lea 7, and a baby 2 years old, children of Mrs. J.B. Patenaude, and three children of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Usereau, one a girl named Florence. The names of the other two were not learned.
The fire was caused by the explosion of an oil lamp. Three youngsters escaped."
