John & Matilda Holman Patrick Indiana

I am planning to construct a volume dedicated to the descendants of John and Matilda Holman Patrick in Jackson County Indiana. I do not anticipate that this book will be for sale, although anyone interested could purchase a copy for a pro-rata share of printing costs. I really am not aiming for a definitive genealogy, although it will be as accurate as feasible. Rather, I want to create a document of interest to future descendants that hopes to personalize our ancestors and ancestral cousins. I plan to present copies to all regional libraries and historical societies, as well as the Library of Congress and the Indiana State Library, where I know they won't be discarded in the future. I want to include photographs of Patrick families and immediate collaterals, particularly old family reunion photographs, and I'll include living Patrick descendants only if I have their permission.

In line with this plan, I'm soliciting information from other descendants in this line, both genealogies and scanned photographs. I can also scan original photos, which will be returned quickly. I'd also like to include interesting family anecdotes, letters, or articles and obituaries. I'd appreciate such information to be in digital form, if possible, to save me the necessity of transcribing. Descendant genealogies would be valuable to correct any errors that exist in my current database, which hasn't been updated for a long time. Up until about a decade ago, I had been working on this line for almost 50 years, but that doesn't mean that I'm the most knowledgeable researcher. I'm not. I was the first person to post a message to the Genforum Patrick Family Forum, but another family line intervened during the late 1990s and all of the 2000s.

If I receive no other submissions from descendants of John and Matilda, the book will be a document of my direct line, but will include birth and death dates of John and Matilda's descendants who are in my database. This will be a long-term project, and I want a permanent record of our family. I will bear the cost of assembling information, setup, and printing.

Don't hesitate to write to me at <> with information, suggestions, photos, or criticisms. I will acknowledge receipt of your communications.
