...Rev. Robert Neill arrived in Canada in 1837 sponsored by the Glasgow Colonial Society. He spent some time in Lower Canada and also served as an assistant to Dr. Machar of St. Andrew's in Kingston. During this time, he ministered to several prisoners awaiting trial for treason following the Battle of Windmill Point in 1838.
