Pattee Family Genealogy Forum
The New England Historical and Genealogical Register for October 1991, January and April 1992 contained a three part article titled "Peter Pattee of Haverhill, Massachusetts: A "Journeyman Shoemaker" and his Descendants" by Marie Lollo Scalisi and Virginia M. Ryan.
In this article mention is made of the belief by some (Linwood Pattee, family historian) that Peter Pattee is the son of Deric and Marie (duPrie) Pety. This information comes from the 29 May 1988 Huguenot Society of London Publications, 13(1899):104. To further quote the article in the above referenced journal "Although this connection has been found to link these two men. In fact, further research showed that 'Peter Pety (was) apprenticed to his father Derick Pety, foreign weaver' and later admitted to the Weavers Company of London as a master weaver (ibid., 33-36:25). Peter Pattee, on the other hand, was a shoemaker by trade (Essex Co. Deeds, 15:94). Signivicant to note, also, is that none of the Christian names in the Pety family - Deric, Marie, Judity, Estere, Isaac, Abraham, Sara and Susanne - occurs in Peter Pattee's family."
If you happen to have additional information that would substantiate the connection that Linwood Pattee, family historian, supported I would be most interested.
