The mysterious Joseph(5) PATTEE has been tentatively identified as Joseph(b.10 Dec 1774 in Goffstown, NH - d.1861 in Mercer, ME) son of Sgt. John(4) & Mary(HADLEY) PATTEE. Joseph married Polly/Mary LOW/LOWE(b.1773 in Fryeburg, ME - d. 1853). They had 3 children(6): Asa, Joseph, & Amos.

The only info I've found on Polly LOW/LOWE is what is above. You might try: Town and Vital records, 1776-1891 Fryeburg (Maine) - Town Clerk.

This information on Joseph & Polly was given by our 'cousin' Lena Caswell Arno of Madison, ME. She has VR documentation for most of her data, and the "History of Mercer" by Harold Owens for the critical connection of Joseph migrating from NH to ME.

Lena also sent me a copy of an excerpt from Linwood PATTEE's Genealogy which was never published. On pg 241, Joseph married Polly(Mary) LOWE on 12 Apr 1803 in Fryeburg, ME. They "removed" from Fryeburg to Mercer, ME in 1808.
Linwood's account lists his sons, Asa, Joseph Jr., & Amos, and lists a daughter, Mehitable.

There is more "Joseph" family data down to the 8th generation in the excerpt from Linwood.

Please take all this info as unproven, though Lena's evidence is fairly compelling. If you need more on Joseph's ancestry/descendants or other branches of the PATTEEs, send me an e-mail and I'll send you additional info.
