I am e-mailing you a file with my research on William Gaylor Pattee/Patee/Petty. It is definitely not conclusive on his parentage but does show the census data with William Gaylor's locations from 1850 til his death in 1878. It has census info on potential PETTY family members from 1790-1840. This file is available to anyone else interested in trying to trace William Gaylor P. Good luck, he is one of the more enigmatic figures in our family. It almost seems as if he changed his last name and place of birth to protect his identity.
