Hello fellow Pattens,
I'm interested in finding out more about my Ggrandfather, Samuel P. Patten. He lived near the Oklahoma panhandle, Blackwell I beleive. He had 12 children with my Grandfather, L. E. being the youngest and born in 1899. He joined the Illinios volunteer infantry, 15 reg. Co. B in 1864,in Freeport Illinois. I have been told he was born near what would become Robertson, Iowa. I don't remember his wife's name as of this typing, but I have that information.
I noticed Charles F. Patten of Ponca City is the son of James R., and I suspect we are cousins, but I don't know my great aunts and uncles' names either,Just that my father is James B. Patten, born in Tulsa, and there is a bit of proximity here.
If this rings anyones bells, I'd love to hear from you!

Bill Patten
Tacoma, Wa
