I am certainly interested in the postcard to 2 Greenhill Terrace. My great grandfather, John James Patten (1835 - 1919), was a master builder on Portland and built Greehill Terrace. He lived at Number 1. (My brother still owns the house and I visited the neighbours in number 2 on a trip about three years ago.)

In trying to find John James parents I discovered from the 1851 census that his mother was Elizabeth (a widow born c 1802 in Burton Bradstock) and he had a younger brother Robert.

I also found that a James and Elizabeth Patten had a daughter christened Jane Patten on 3 Jul 1831 in Portland (IGI Index batch C159852). I do not know if the Elizabeth is "my" Elizabeth but it may have some connection with the original message.
