I am not a descendent of the Patten family, but I was at an antiques extravaganza event in Adamstown, PA this weekend and I saw a case that contained a picture of a man as well as a pocket-watch. In addition to the picture and the watch there was a little note that contained some relatively specific information, so I thought I would post this on the Patten & Patton boards to see if this watch may find a home in the family it belongs to. This is what the handwritten note in the watch says:
"Your grandfather Th. Patten b. 1810. We think you look like him, especially his eyes. So you may like to own this. (Signed) Aunt Mannie"
The information written on the vendor's tag had this information: 165 Illinois Rockland c. 1917 (I'm assuming that's the brand of the watch??) with case, note, & ambrotype. $650.
The name & contact information of the vendor is:
Old Father Time
223 Hartman Bridge Road
Ronks, PA 17572
I thought I would post this information in case anyone is descended from this family. I love history and I love genealogy and I wish that a member of the family owned this watch and picture and not some antiques dealer. Does anyone recognize these names?
