Dear Vera; Hello. I read your message about Patten's from N.H., Maine and Mass. I am seeking info on a certain family I have found in several census's in Maine. Was wondering if they were in your book: Father: Elbridge G. Patten - b. approx. 1814 Mother: Mahala Patten - b. also approx. 1814 Various children found in several census's: Delphina b. approx. 1836 Judith - b. approx. 1838 Benjamin F. - b. approx 1840 Franklin (possibly same as Benjamin F.) Roselphia - b. approx 1842 Ferdinand - b. approx 1844 or 1845 (my g. grandfather) Elizabeth - b. approx. 1846 Elbridge G. - b. approx. 1848 Carrie A. - b. approx 1854-1858 Marcus or Merrion - b. approx 1959 George E. - b. approx 1859 In 1850 census they were in Hartland, Maine In 1860 census they were in Pittsfield, Maine (close to Hartland) In 1870 they were in Fairfield, Maine. In 1880 census Mahala is found with several children and a grandchild in Lewiston, Maine. Elbridge is not found. Ferdinand is my great grandfather. He moved to Lewiston around 1879, got married and had children there and in Massachusetts. He died in Augusta in 1909. Also someone looked up in 1910 Mass. census and found the younger Elbridge living in Attleborough, Mass. Anything you might find on these Pattens would be of interest to me. I would like to find out what Mahala's maiden name is. Also who Elbridge's and Mahala's parents are and when and where they may have died. Sorry, I know this is long, but thought the more info you had, the easier it might be to find something. Thanks so much for reading this and looking in your book, if you have time.
