Bryce McLellan Patten (1814-1891)

I am researching Bryce McLellan Patten (1814 Topsham ME--1891 Farmington IA) and his brother Otis Patten (1821-1893) They were sons of Actor Patten (1771-1829) and Anna Wilson. Actor Patten's parents were Actor Patten (1736/7-1816) and Jane McLellan, dau of Hugh McLellan.

My research is for a history of the American Printing House for the Blind in Louisville KY (est. 1858)Bryce Patten was the first director as well as first director of the KY School for the Blind. Otis Patten taught at the KY school and superintendent of the Arkansas School for the Blind. Bryce attended Monmouth Academy and graduated Bodowin college.

My quest is for any correspondence or family memoirs that Bryce and/or Otis might have written home about their life in Louisville and their work with the education of blind people.

Bryce married in 1851 to Mary Earle (d. 1856) and I have no information on this family. I am contacting your site on the chance that there are Patten family paperss that might be a source of material for my book.
