Hi, Bill,

I'm your cousin; I was Anne Scruton (Kathleen's daughter). The name is Stotser. The family was Swiss, not German. Samuel's wife was Louisa (pronounced with a long i). I'm pretty sure your sister Katie has a little pamphlet about the Stotser family, with pictures. At least, when I saw it at Nana and Pat's house it was supposed to go to her. That was about 30 years ago, though!

Did you ever find out more about Samuel Patten? Pat did some looking for records about him but had little luck.
