Doubts about name Actor/Hector Patten

So, I've been thinking about it, and if Actor/Hector Patten came from Ireland, then neither of his supposed names makes sense to me. Hector is Greek, which I suppose an educated Irishman could name his son that, but it would still be a highly unusual name for the time and place. Actor doesn't make sense either, other than a bad spelling job on whatever the real name was. No one back then would name their son after a profession that had little to no respect. I did find an Acton in my baby name book. It's English in origin, meaning "oak-tree settlement". If anyone else has further thoughts on this, please feel free to share.
