Cynthia - we have traded info on the little I have on Dighton Paullin (my gg-grandfather), but thought I should also post here to share.

Dighton (Deighton) Paullin was born 18 Feb 1856 (per death cert) in Logan County, Illinois. Parents unknown at this time. He married Laura B. McAllister on 8 Feb 1876 in McLean County, Illinois (daughter of Andrew McAllister and Nancy West). Laura died on 9 Dec 1891 in Alamosa, Conejos Co., Colorado, leaving behind her husband, sons Edward and Joseph and daughter Beulah (my g-grandma)

Dighton remarried around 1894 to Ida Purdue. Dighton worked for the railroad and eventually moved to Oklahoma where he died on 14 Nov 1926 in Woodward, Oklahoma where he apparently had family (siblings).

I found this obit that mentions Dighton
"The Kansas City Star" (Missouri) Tuesday, March 7, 1922

Joseph A. PAULLIN, died Monday noon at the home
of his daughter, Mrs. M. D. DARLETON, 5219 Norledge
place, aged 74 years. Besides the daughter, he is
survived by his wife, Mrs. Nannie B. PAULLIN, of the
home address; two sisters, Mrs. Susan E. DAVIS, of
4023 N. Benton, Kansas City, and Mrs. Joseph T.
STONER, of Roger, Ark., and two brothers, Milton
PAULLIN, of Texarkana, Tex., and Dighton PAULLIN
of Woodward, Ok.

Mr. PAULLIN was one of the old Santa Fe passenger
conductors and ran a train between Kansas City and
Wellington, Kas., for more than 22 years, having retired
some years ago; had lived in Kansas City 35 years and
was a member of Thomas Farragut Post, G. A. R.

Would love to confirm his parents and any other family
