Dighton Paullin and Laura McAlister are my g'grandparents. My father is Edward Milton Paullin, Jr. (b. 1903 Alamosa, CO d. 1993 San Diego, CA). My father grew up in Alamosa and Denver and graduated from CU Boulder in 1926 with degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. As a child, he sometimes sat in "Gappy's" lap when Dighton was engineer for the Denver-Rio Grande Railroad. His father Edward M. Paullin (Sr.) was a conductor for the D&RG. Grandmother Laura described their trip to Colorado in a covered wagon and being attacked by Indians. I have a very cute story about her on the covered wagon trip from Illinois. I have quite extensive information on the Paullin Family. Please contact me directly if you are interested.
