My g-grandfather was William Arthur Paullin of McLean Co., IL. According to family history, Jacob H. Paullin (b. April 23, 1828) and his wife Martha Colvin Paullin moved to Il. from their home state of Ohio in 1851. They lived in Logan Co.. Their children were: Thomas L. (my g-g-grandfather), Charles E., David C., John M., Laura E., Abraham L., and George W. Paullin. Thomas married Elizabeth (Nannie) Constant in McLean Co., Dec. 11, 1870. They lived in McLean, Piatt, and Sangamon Counties. Perhaps Dighton was a nephew of Thomas's?
Jacob Paullin's parents came from NJ.
