Christopher, thanks for contacting me. My Margaret Paulin was born around 1823. Don't where she or her family was from. I know most of this side of my family came from Alsace-Lorraine, the area you mentioned. I also know that many Paulins came from French-Canada as well. I think that she died in 1908 at the age of 85 years old in New Orleans. She is buried in Lafayette Cemetery in the Garden District. Do you have any other Margaret Paulin's in your family? Her husband died when she was fairly young (he was murdered uptown in their neighborhood). But, I am fairly sure she didn't remarry. As I mentioned before, her husband was Phillip Long (Lang) 1818-1856.

What area of town did your Paulin's live in? They migrated to New Orleans in 1820? Or did they come thru another port?
