Where in New England? My grandfather-in-law, Niels Mygind Paulsen, of Kolding (not too far from Ribe)came to New Haven CT in 1902 and worked for a few years at the New Haven Clock Co. He was trained as a watchmaker in Denmark, but I have wondered why he picked New Haven and/or the clock co. as a destination--he was most definitely headed for New Haven when he left Denmark.
