This appeared in the Sunday, December 9, 2006 Greensburg Tribune-Review written by Rich Robbins. So Larry's family has been found:

"The family of Lawrence Pavlick has claimed his remains and plan on burying him alongside his mother and father in eastern Pennsylvania.

Pavlick, 52, apparently homeless, died Monday of a heart attack on a Greensburg sidewalk. He had been working as a temporary employee at a packaging company in Jeannette.

"He was a wonderful man," said his niece, Kimberly Pavlick, a professor at the University of Scranton. "We have no idea why he disengaged from his family."

Lawrence Pavlick cut most of the ties to his family 20 years ago when he walked away from a family baptism, his niece said. There had been a complete break with the family starting four to five years ago, she said.

Pavlick hailed from Freeland, Luzerne County, according to his niece. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Pavlick at one time owned a beer distributorship in Clairton, she said.

"He was successful," Pavlick said. "He had a home. I remember it being palatial. He bred golden retriever dogs, and they are not inexpensive to breed."

As a youngster, Pavlick said she and her sister visited their uncle in Clairton and remembers attending Pirates games with him at Three Rivers Stadium.

"He was loved," his niece said. "He could have come home anytime. We are a tight-knit family."

Pavlick's remains were being held by the coroner's office. Westmoreland County Deputy Coroner Paul Cycak said Pavlick's body since has been released to the David A. Ritter Funeral Home in Trafford, which is working with the funeral home in Freeland that will handle the funeral and burial.

Pavlick's body had been close to being donated to a Philadelphia-based facility that distributes bodies to medical schools, Cycak said.

Officials remained perplexed as to whether Pavlick was homeless at the time of his death. "We're really not sure," Cycak said.

Kim Pavlick said her family wants to try to fill in the many blank pages of her uncle's life for the last 20 years. The family, she said, is searching for anyone with information about her uncle."
