The information I have on Barzilla comes from: Lampasas County Texas Its Histsory And Its People Compiled by the Lampasas History Book Committee of the Lampasas County Historical Commision Lampasas, Texas, U.S.A. Library of Congress Catalog No. 90-71524 Walsworth Publishing Company, Marceline, Missouri.

The article does not mention that the little boy was a slave, nor does it mention that Barzilla was blind. What it does say is: "A surprisingly consistent version has been told and retold by his children to their chldren and passed down to out generation:"

The article also states that an account of Barzilla's death is recorded in: Mills County - The Way It Was by Hartial Blackwell, and also J. W. Wilbarger's Indian Depredidation in Texas.

I hope this helps you.
