Rod,

You speak of Jennie who was born in NS and a mother who died in childbirth. This may be a long shot, but I am trying to find out information on Paysons in Elgin County, Ontario. In the 1861 census it shows a Melissa Payson, 20, living with a Decow family. There was a note stating that she was not a member of the family. The next year she married John Clark, and the register said she was Melissa Decow, daughter of Daniel Decow and Ann. Do you have anything on Paysons who were in Elgin County?

Thank you,

Melinda
