Hi Steve!

Not sure I have a connection with the Payson line. I was looking for my ggrandmother, Melissa Ann Decow, who said on her 1862 marriage register that she was the daughter of Daniel Decow and Ann from Southwold. So, I looked at the 1861 census and found Daniel Decow and Lucy Ann with children, but there was only a Melissa Payson who was not a member of the family. I thought this might be my Melissa, but I now believe the name was just a coincidence, and that this was another Melissa.

I have not found anything more on the Paysons to share with you. Sorry!

Best wishes on your search,

Melinda
