My mother was a Payson and I have the geneal-
ogy for my direct line,beginning with Edward
B. in 1610 in Stanstead Abbey,England.Emmig-
rated to Dorchester or Roxbury,MA in 1637.M.
Ann Parke,who had his dau.Both mother & baby
died.M.Mary Eliot(sister of Preacher John El-
iot).The Paysons stayed in this area until a-
bout mid 1700s,when they moved to Nova Scotia
&New Brunswick.5th in descent was Johnathan &
wife Abigail Whitney.Their 11th child Johnat-
han B.1799 & M. Mary M'Reusie(they lived in N
B,but he D.in Bangor,ME.I see no Leonora,but the names that show at that time period are
Prince Edward Payson B.1802;Mary Ann B.1802,N
B.;Guy Carleton Payson B.1790-NB;Amelia B.-NB
1792.Abiad B. 1793-NB;Elijah Tileston Payson
B.1795-NB;Epraim Holland Payson B.1796-NB.The
last names from Edward on were Leadbeater;,
Blake;Tileston,Whitney.My branch went to NS.
(Bridgetown,Annapolis Valley),then returned to the Boston area.Don't know if this has is
of any help.Hope so!As for the St.Clair I see
none.Strangely we were in Camden,ME just yes-
turday and Augusta last Wed. doing genealogy
research.Too bad I didn't receive this a few
days earlier.Have you checked the ME Archives
for records of marriage?May find only intent-
ions at that date,as we did for a different
