- Mrs. Beulah Peacher Martin, aged about 45 years, wife of Mr. Frank Martin of Washington, died at her home about a week ago, after being ill for some time. She was the daughter of Mr William Peacher and the late Mrs. Peacher of Bolivar. Besides her husband and her father, she is survived by two brothers, Lee and Earl of Washington. The body was brought to Bolivar and interment made in Fairview Lutheran cemetery.

Obituary - Frederick Post - 11 January 1939

- Ernest Peacher, aged 36 years, son of the late Mrs. Peacher and William Peacher, formerly of Bolivar, died in St. Agnes hospital, Baltimore, on January 4, after being a patient there since December 10 when he was struck by an automobile, and suffered a fracture of one leg and other serious injuries. He was thought to be recovering, but bronchial pneumonia developed, which resulted in his death. He is survived by his widow and a daughter, his father, two brothers and two sisters, all of Washington. The Peacher family are natives of Jefferson county, having spent a number of years in and near Bolivar. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon, from the Methodist Episcopal church, Bolivar, with Rev. C. B. Smith officiating. Interment in the Lutheran cemetery .

Mary A. Peacher

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Mary Agnes Peacher, 89, of Charles Town, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at Shenandoah Health Village Center in Charles Town.

Born Feb. 23, 1912, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel Gray Sr. and Jessie M. Hill Gray.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Clifton Peacher, in 1980.

She was a graduate of Harpers Ferry (W.Va.) High School.

She was employed from 1966 until her retirement in 1988 as assistant postmaster at the Halltown, W.Va., Post Office.

She was a member of Halltown Presbyterian Church.

She was a member of Harpers Ferry Womens Club; and Women of the Moose Chapter 1028 of Charles Town.

She is survived by two sons, Clifton N. Peacher and Allen P. Peacher, both of Charles Town; a sister, Jessie E. Clevenger of Halltown; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia P. Trail; and six brothers, Charles A. Gray, Robert L. Gray, Norman H. Gray, Nathaniel Gray Jr., Hamel H. Gray and Oral S. Gray.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. The Rev. William Everhart will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

John J. Peacher

FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - The Rev. John J. Peacher, 67, of Falling Waters, died Sunday, March 8, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Towson, Md.

Born May 16, 1930, in Harpers Ferry, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Lee and Annie Rankin Peacher.

He was formerly an Assemblies of God minister and pastor for 20 years. He pioneered the Assembly of God Church on W.Va. 45 in Shepherdstown, W.Va., in the 1960s. He also pastored in Orange and Catlett, Va., Frederick, Md., and Lockhart, Fla. He retired in 1990.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Nina Lee Hines Peacher; two sons, John R. "Randy" Peacher of Harpers Ferry and Steven K. Peacher of Altoona, Pa.; one sister, Mary Smith of Hagerstown; one brother, Paul Peacher of Hagerstown; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Paul C. Peacher and Michael A. Peacher; two sisters, Bea Beichler and Rosie Jackson; and four brothers, Leon Peacher, Earl Peacher, Lindy Peacher and Charles Peacher.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at New Hope Assembly of God Church, W.Va. 45, Shepherdstown. The Rev. Jim Richard will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg, W.Va., Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
