Joanna Peacher/Pitcher was not born in Ky but Orange Co. Va. The family moved to KY c. 1808. The father of her children was William THurman. She never married. He was already married.

Also known as Johannah or Joan Peacher. Family lore has it that Jonannah never married but was known as the "Widow Pitcher". She is probably buried in an
unmarked grave at the James and Beckham Cemetery on Goebel Dean's farm Cummins Ferr y RD.Mercer Co. KY.
According to Woodford County tax lists Joanna Pitcher owned 3 acres near the KY river.

Cordie Jenkins said that Joanna Peacher became mad one night when everyone was sitting down for dinner and took her shoe off and threw it at someone in the kitchen. She said that Margaret smoked a corn cobb pipe. This is all passed down so it might have merit or might not.
