Elizabeth Peacock b 1820 Davidson County, NC
Elizabeth Peacock was born 1820 in Davidson County, NC daughter of John and Christina Holloway Peacock. She had 4 children and never married. The names of the children are William George Peacock b 1843, Christina Priscilla Peacock b 1847, Sarah Peacock b 1853, and John Ivy b 1861. William and Christina are with Elizabeth in the home of Solomon Fry in the 1850 census. Solomon is called Solomy in the 1850 census and Solome in 1860.The research I have seen on her children always credit John Gallimore to be the father of the first two and Solomon Fry the father of the last two. The 1860 census shows Elizabeth living alone with her three children John Ivy is not born until 1861.
Elizabeth kept a family bible which was updated by her nephew Samuel Moses Peacock postmaster of Denton, NC. Elizabeth could not read and write. Who is in possession of her bible today? Dr. Howard Barker and Maurine Clifford had access or someone gave them information on the birth date of Elizabeth’s father. Dr. Barker and Miss Clifford state the names of the fathers are unknown but may be John Gallimore and Solomon Fry. I am sure the names and birth dates of her children are in the bible but does it name the fathers?
My main research has been to find a male descendent of Samuel, William or John willing to take the DNA test. My current count is 8 living descendents all in Illinois and all unwilling to take part in the Peacock Family DNA test. I am now working on John of Cabarrus and Lincoln looking for someone to take the test.
