Dear Cheryl,
Thanks for the reply and sorry for my delay in replying.I would be interested to receive any information you may have.
I assume, from your reference to Perth, that you are a descendant of William Pead who emigrated to the Australind settlement in WA aboard the 'Diadem' in 1842? I am a descendant of his younger brother, Alexander, who emigrated to NSW around 1855 (as you will see from my previous postings).
I always thought there was a link with the WA Peads, as my parents were married in Perth in 1951, and my grandfather told Dad to look up a Cecil Pead when he went over to be married (but he did'nt get around to it). I contacted an Alfred 'Bill' Pead from Floreat Park about 20 years ago when on holidays visiting Mum's family (I am from Canberra). Bill showed me a tree his cousin, Alan Pead (Melbourne) had given him and, voila, there was the proof of the link between the Port Maquarie/Wauchope Peads and the Perth Peads I had always supposed to exist.
Anyhow - please fill me in on any details you have, Cheryl.
best regards
Tony
