Mrs. Frances Peden, an aged christian lady, died at her home near Welsh last Thursday and was buried at Lane's Chapel on Friday.Rev. A. M. Yoe conducting the services.She had been faithful member of the Methodist church for fifty-seven years. Her husband was killed while fighting for the Confederacy.

The Leader had a call last Thursday from Mr. Hawkins Peden now of Paris, Texas [Lamar Co.] who had been away from Randolph county for 41 years. He said we had ruined the country since he left by cutting down the trees.
