I have conflicting information on Harvey Jennings Peal as well as conflicting information on Joseph Peal and his children. Hopefully we can straighten out the info on Harvey Jennings Peal with your help. My info states that Harvey Jennings Peal, born June 15, 1859, is the son of Parthena J. Peal. Since no father is listed and he has the surname of Peal, I assume he was conceived without benefit of clergy. Parthena J. Peal was born on June 4, 1849, the daughter of Joseph and Martha Peal, died May 6, 1933, both events in Kanawha County. Parthena married James Ford on October 23, 1885. I also have information that says Parthena had another son, Meredith J. Peal in 1867, and he died in 1943. I would love to know how you found out Martha Peal's maiden name as well as the dates for their births and deaths. My information states that Martha and Joseph had 5 children, John Luther, Margaret Lee, George, W.C. Reaves, and Parthena J. John Luther, my g-g-g-grandfather, had 4 children with Ellander Lockhart Peal, and 8 children with Harriett Garrison. I can give you more information on John Luther's descendants if you want. So we have conflicting information on how many children Joseph and Martha had. I really don't think that Joseph and Harvey were brothers, I think that Joseph was Harvey's grandfather. I have the same information on Harvey's wife although you list one more child that I do; I don't have Freda listed. If you would like to exchange more information you may reply here or contact me at Do you have Mary Susan Wells' parents, etc? I do have a few more facts on her and her parents. Hope to hear from you.
