There are several John Pearls in the John and Nicholas Pearl(e) genealogy who might be yours (b. 1741 MA) but all have well documented marriages and offspring that don't match your ancestor. There is a John Pearl of Boxford b. 1738 grandson of John (b. 1645/6 Beverley, Eng.) and a John Pearl b. 1714 in Dover, NH, grandson of Nicholas, m. Mary Tibbetts. No known children have been documented for this couple but all of this John's six brothers and sisters lived in the NH, VT, ME area not MA.
Sorry, I could not be of more help.
