My William H. PEARL is believed to be the son of a John PEARL, according to records provided at various stages of his life. John PEARL is believed to have been born in NY and William is believed to have been born in Chemung County, NY. His mother, however, is Mahala Diana Stanton, who was later married to Ransom MONROE. Although her obituary states she was previously married to "Mr. Pearl" so far no record has been found. I know nothing further of this John Pearl. In the 1850 census, William H. Pearl is found in Steuben County, NY listed as William H. MUNROE and is living with his mother and stepfather. William later uses the PEARL surname and relocates to Nebraska. He can be found with his wife Julia A. (Henderson) PEARL in Saline and Thayer Counties.

William's middle name was Henry. He died Feb. 17, 1920 in Burkett, NE and is buried at Carleton, NE.
