Hi Sue:

We DO NOT know for sure who Lawrence father and grandfather are. However, on the 1800 or 1810 Frederick Co., MD census (I forgot which one) there is a Basil Perril (I think that's the way it's spelled) that we think is Lawrence' father. Robert "Mulatto Robin" Pearl had a son Basil and so did Robert's son Daniel. So, we are thinking that Robert or Daniel is the father of that Basil. Pearl is spelled many different ways. My grandfather changed it from Pearl to Perrell. My great-grandfather is John James Pearl the son of Lawrence. Robert "Mulatto Robin" Pearl is probably the son of Richard Marsham & a slave.

Have you looked at Linda Fluharty's Pearl Page?

I've been very busy lately & probably will be until the end of October with yard work. I have cinch bugs & they have done a lot of damage to my yard.
