Alonzo Pearsall was my grandfather and Calvin Pearsall was his brother. Alonzo had two children by his first wife, Mary Essie Wood Pearsall. These are my father, Newman Pearsall born 1906 died 1971, and his sister Florence whose married name is Rain. My grandmother Pearsall died in 1911 and Alonzo married my father's stepmother who was also named Mary. Alice Pearsall is my father's half-sister by Alonzo and his second wife. She was born around 1916 and died, I believe, in 1939. I have never met or even talked to many of my close relatives on the Pearsall side of my family even though most of them apparently lived close by on Long Island while I was growing up in Woodmere and Hewlett. Calvin Pearsall is my father's cousin and his children are my second cousins. Florence Pearsall was living in Miami, Florida as recently as 1970. I believe that she had a daughter who would be my first cousin.
