This may help you.
Edward died in August, several weeks before his child was born. In his will, probated 28 Aug in Chester Co, Pa. he speaks of his wife being with child. Dorothy Davis Peasall, her son, Edward Peasall II, went back to live with her parents, and finally came with them in 1743 to Wilmington, NC as part of the Welsh migration. Dorothy's brother, Evan Davis, went on to South Carolina, where he married Mrs. Lydia Emory Williams. (This given name is questionable??) Their son, Samuel, married Jane Cook and they were the parents of Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States of America. (William Whitsitt: "Genealogy of Jefferson Davis," in the Duke University Library, and the Jefferson Davis Family Tree in the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond, Va.)
