Elizabeth: My Grandfather, George Pearse, came to near Windsor, Ontario from Withicombe, Somerset (near Minehead)about 1850. His father was John Pearse, b. about 1820, and he had a brother Henry, who stayed in Withicombe and sired 15 children (some of whom were still living when I visited from Chicago in 1990). I have never heard of a James or a William. George in Ontario, had 4 sons: Forest (my Grandfather), Russel, Donald and Charles. I have heard that some of Henry's daughters left Withicomb for Western Canada, and Austrailia.
