The following is an AMENDMENT and EXTENSION of the original line of Pearses I posted. Additional information is from church and churchyard research done by Thomas Horace Parkin of Callington, Cornwall, whose mother was Winifred Kate Pearse, the only daughter of Joseph and Catherine Butteris Pearse. (This Joseph was born in Yealmstone, Devon, November 24, 1864, to William and Mary Ann Gould Pearse. His family moved to Launceston, Cornwall soon after Joseph's birth. The parents of William Henry were Joseph and Jane Harvey Pearse. Our common ancestors are Joseph and Elizabeth Lavers Pearse.)

January 4,1750 in Plympton (baptized 3/4/50 in Plympton, St Mary), d. 1827 and married in 1778 to Elizabeth Lavers (1754-1839) whose parents were John Lavers & Mary ?of Plymouth?; Joseph's father was William Pearse b. 1728, d. ? and m. December 16,1757, at Newton Ferrers to Sarah Weeks (1727- ?); his father was William Pearse b. 1704, d. 1765, married in 1726 to Catherine Madders (1705-1784) Yealhampton churchyard headstones; his father was Thomas Pearse, a miller, b. ?, d. ?, who married in July 30,1702 to FFlorence Hicks ( ? - 1728)
