Regarding the Pearse Family of Linkinhorne. I think you might be enquiring about Joseph born in 1841 whose parents were William Pearse & Mary Gumb -- William Pearse born in 1808 married Mary in 1835. Joseph was the fourth child of eight. My great-grandfather, Richard Pearse, was the first born of that family in 1836. I can trace Richard Pearse's direct line to the present day. Other children of William and Mary were: Martha (1837), William (1839), John (1844), Thomas (unmarried 1846), Elizabeth (unmarried 1851) & Mary Jane (1854). William Pearse died in 1872 (aged 64 years), and Mary died in 1855 (47 years).

William Pearse remarried Harriet (a widow) and had three more children: Amelia (1862), George Henry (1864) and Amos (1867). At this point they had moved from Linkinhorne and were in South Hill (adjoining area). Let me know if this is the connection you are looking for.

Sylvia Eldridge (Pearse)
